The 2017 Tesla Model S 100D was a sedan produced from 2017 to 2019. It features a dual motor (ac induction) AWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 335 miles with 102 MPGe. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is 155 mph. Manufactured at Fremont, CA.
When Tesla introduced the 100 kWh battery pack in early 2017, the 100D became the longest-range production electric car in the world. Its 335-mile EPA rating was a benchmark that no competitor would match for years. The extra capacity came from higher energy density cells, not a larger pack footprint.
The 100D was the range king, and Tesla priced it accordingly. Buyers who didn't need Ludicrous Mode's face-melting acceleration could get the biggest battery without paying for the Performance motor. It stayed in production until the Raven update arrived in April 2019.
