The 75 replaced the 70 in June 2016 as the rear-wheel-drive base Model S, stretching EPA range to 249 miles. It carried the facelifted nose Tesla introduced that spring and could be optioned with the same Autopilot hardware as its dual-motor siblings.

In September 2017 Tesla dropped it and made all Model S cars dual-motor. No factory Model S since has driven its rear wheels alone, which gives the 75 a small place in history as the last single-motor flagship.
