The P85+ was Tesla's first crack at a proper performance sedan. Released in mid-2013, it packed an enhanced rear motor with more aggressive tuning and came standard with sport suspension and staggered 21-inch wheels. It was rear-wheel drive only, as dual-motor Teslas didn't exist yet.

Production was limited, running only from June 2013 to October 2014, which makes surviving examples relatively rare today. The "+" designation indicated a higher-output inverter and upgraded rear drive unit. It was a proof of concept: Tesla could build a car that was fast, not just efficient.
