Tesla brought back the single-motor Long Range RWD for 2025, something buyers had been asking about since the original rear-drive LR was discontinued in 2019. By using only the rear motor with the full Highland battery pack, it delivers the longest range of any Model 3 variant while costing less than the AWD version.
It's a compelling option for buyers in mild climates who don't need all-wheel drive. The single-motor setup is inherently more efficient since there's no front motor creating drag when it's not in use. For highway-heavy commuters and road trippers, this is probably the smartest Model 3 you can buy right now.
