The 2024 Tesla Model 3 RWD (Highland) is a sedan in production since 2023. It features a single motor (permanent magnet) RWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 272 miles with 132 MPGe. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. Top speed is 125 mph. Manufactured at Shanghai / Fremont, CA.
Codenamed "Highland," the refreshed 2024 Model 3 was the car's first major redesign since 2017. Tesla reworked the exterior with slimmer headlights, a reshaped front end, and new taillights while overhauling the interior with an 8-inch rear passenger screen, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. The turn signal and gear stalks were deleted in favor of steering wheel buttons and a touchscreen stalk.
The base RWD Highland launched first in China and Europe before reaching North America. Road and wind noise were significantly reduced thanks to double-pane glass all around and improved acoustic insulation. It felt like a different car from the 2017 original, seven years of iteration compressed into one update.
