The 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance AWD (Highland) is a sedan in production since 2024. It features a dual motor (permanent magnet) AWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 303 miles with 115 MPGe. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Top speed is 163 mph. Manufactured at Shanghai / Fremont, CA.
The Highland Performance arrived a few months after the standard trims, and Tesla gave it a proper sendoff from the old generation. It got unique front and rear fascias, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, larger brakes, adaptive dampers (a first for Model 3), and a dedicated "Track Mode" that was more refined than the previous generation's version.
The adaptive suspension was the real story. For the first time, a Model 3 could switch between comfortable daily driving and stiff track settings without aftermarket modifications. Combined with the Highland's improved interior and noise isolation, it became a car that could do double duty as a commuter and a weekend track weapon.
