Tesla closed out the first-generation Model Y with a value play: a single-motor Long Range RWD at $43,990 with a 320-mile EPA rating, the most range per dollar in the 2024 lineup. It arrived in October 2023 as the new base trim.
It bridged the gap to the Juniper refresh, after which the formula returned as the Premium RWD. For buyers who didn't need all-wheel drive, it was arguably the smartest Model Y of its generation.
