The 2022 Tesla Model Y Standard Range RWD was an SUV produced from 2022 to 2022. It features a single motor (permanent magnet) RWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 260 miles with 129 MPGe. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. Top speed is 120 mph. Manufactured at Fremont, CA / Austin, TX.
Tesla briefly offered a Standard Range, rear-wheel-drive Model Y in 2022 with a smaller battery pack and a lower price tag. It was aimed at buyers who wanted the Model Y's practicality without paying for range or performance they didn't need. The shorter range kept it from qualifying for the full federal EV tax credit under early IRA rules, which hurt its appeal.
It was pulled from the configurator within months. Tesla likely found that most Y buyers were willing to step up to the Long Range, making the cheaper trim a low-margin distraction. It's one of the rarer Model Y configurations, produced in small numbers during a brief window.
