The 2025 Tesla Model S Plaid was a sedan produced from 2025 to 2026. It features a tri motor (permanent magnet, carbon-sleeved rotors) AWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 348 miles with 104 MPGe. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 1.99 seconds. Top speed is 200 mph. Manufactured at Fremont, CA.
The 2025 Plaid keeps the tri-motor, sub-2-second powertrain but adds visual and comfort upgrades to match its flagship status. Unlike the AWD trim, the Plaid retains the yoke steering wheel as its exclusive input device. It also gets carbon fiber grille accents and a sportier front fascia to set it apart visually.
The same 22-speaker audio, animated ambient lighting, and front bumper camera from the AWD trim carry over. With a 200 mph top speed and over 1,000 horsepower, the Plaid continues to sit in a strange market position: a luxury sedan that can outrun most dedicated sports cars, priced well below its performance peers from Porsche and Mercedes-AMG.
