The 2022 Tesla Semi 300-Mile Range is a semi truck in production since 2022. It features a tri motor (permanent magnet) RWD powertrain. EPA-rated range is 325 miles. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 20 seconds. Top speed is 65 mph. Manufactured at Sparks, NV (Gigafactory Nevada).
Tesla's Class 8 electric truck entered production in late 2022, years behind its original 2019 target. The 300-mile variant is built for shorter regional haul routes, drayage, and hub-to-hub logistics where trucks return to base nightly for charging. Three motors on the rear axle provide independent drive and regenerative braking.
The cab puts the driver in a centered seat, a departure from conventional truck design. Early units went to PepsiCo and Frito-Lay for fleet testing. Tesla manufactures the Semi at its Nevada Gigafactory, though volume production has ramped slowly.
