The Long Range Plus earned a place in EV history by becoming the first production electric car to exceed 400 miles of EPA-rated range. The 402-mile figure came from a combination of Raven powertrain efficiency, new carbon-sleeved rear motor bearings, and reduced rolling resistance from lighter wheels.

It used the same 100 kWh pack as before. No bigger battery, just better engineering. Tesla achieved a 15% efficiency improvement over the original 100D through iterative drivetrain and aerodynamic refinements. This was the final version of the pre-Palladium Model S, and it went out on a high note.
